I am very excited to be joining Hoybjerg Family Orthodontics. I just completed 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. I practiced General Dentistry for 9 years and for the last 9 years I have been an Orthodontist at Travis Air Force Base. I had the opportunity to mentor Oral Maxillofacial Residents as well as Advanced Education in General Dentistry residents. I treated mostly Air Force Service members, many who were unable to have orthodontic treatment prior joining the service. I truly enjoyed being able to help improve smiles and faces of the service men and women.
I completed my undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri- St. Louis earning a BS in Biology. I then attended University of PIttsburgh School of Dental Medicine and earned my dental degree. I was commissioned into the Air Force on a Health Professions Scholarship program in 2003. I completed a 1 year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency before being stationed overseas in Japan and Germany. After practicing General Dentistry for 9 years I was selected for the Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program in San Antonio Texas. I earned my certificate in Orthodontics as well as a Masters in Oral Biology from the Uniformed Services University.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics and I am a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
While being stationed in Japan, I met my amazing husband Scott. We have been married for 15 years and have two beautiful daughters. They keep us very busy with all of their activities. It is so amazing to watch them learn and grow and develop a love for the outdoors. Our family loves exploring all that the area has to offer. We love hiking, biking, swimming, skiing and camping. As a family we have made a goal to see as many National Parks and National Monuments as we can.
I am so excited to start this next chapter working for Hoybjerg Family Orthodontics. I love being an orthodontist! It is the most rewarding profession to be able to change smiles and see kids and adults gain confidence.
